Lin Sanity!!

What do my followers think of the Jeremy Lin story out of NY? Is he a one week wonder? Is he a rising star in the NBA? Is all this hype just because he is of Asian decent like Mayweather said?  I will share my opinions after I see some of yours

  1. In all honesty, I think it's a little early to call. Yes, I do think having Jeremy Lin is a very nice story right now and he is playing outstanding, but to judge a guy based on six games is too small of a sample to determine whether he is going to be good for the sport and continue his success or if he is the golden boy for now and eventually fade out with the return of Carmelo and Amare. Let's just wait and see how he fairs through the rest of the season and then I'll have an answer.

  2. Jeremy Lin is a great story; however, I believe that the media are overdoing it once again, as they did with Tebow. Every time I turn on ESPN during the day, someone is talking about Jeremy Lin. He's a great story, but don't ruin what he's doing by overhyping it and overdoing the coverage. Lin obviously has the opportunity to be a star in the NBA, and playing in New York helps his cause significantly. I will say that I'm glad that he has been doing well for the Knicks, just waiting to see what he does when my boy 'Melo comes back. It would be great for him to cut down on his turnovers, but I'm not complaining if they keep winning.

    1. Have to agree with you Joel. Whenever a story like this comes out it is all the media likes to talk about for the longest time, and I think that's the main reason why he's gotten so much publicity right now. Great story, yes, but over time it will become something just as annoying as the whole Tebow is amazing stories were and look at how split fans are with him. Over time, it will depend on how well he continues to play rather than how well he's doing for a week or two. Like another one hit wonder Len, Lin is Stealing Our Sunshine. Now the question is how long can he keep it up.

    2. Nice work boys, very good info. I agree with the overhyping of Lin, but since it is happening in NY it is understandable. I have heard people saying that Lin could be a potential All Star next year, is that believalbe?

    3. I don't know about the All-Star status just yet. Like I said before, I want to see how he does for the rest of the year before I even make any kind of assumption on the guy. Now with Melo back and Amare, it will be very interesting to see how those two guys egos mesh with Linsanity and all the hype surrounding him. I do kinda think that Melo may let his ego get the best of the Knicks but I could be wrong. Everything is just way to early to tell. For example: it was easy to make an opinion about Tebow because of what we saw from him in college but with Lin, very few people knew about Lin in college so this is really the first look we're getting at the guy. I won't go so far as to say he will be an all-star until I see how these three guys work together for the rest of the year.
